USDA- Certified Organic, Natural, 100% pure, premium grade cocoa butter, non-deodorized

Cocoa butter usually comes in a chunk or bar. The colour can vary from cream, which is harder in density, to black, which is softer. It has a smooth texture and a gentle fragrance that some have described as being similar to chocolate, which also comes from the cocoa bean. Raw or organic cocoa butter is made from 100% pure cocoa oil.

Some people have reported problems getting the cocoa butter to melt. Other application methods include softening a piece of the cocoa butter in a small bowl of hot water. If you use this method, be very careful not to burn yourself!

The most common method is to simply break off a small piece or shave off a slice and rub it against your skin. The friction will melt the butter so it can be absorbed into the skin. Unlike some other moisturizing products, cocoa butter does not leave a greasy residue on the skin.

Another popular method is to take a piece of cocoa butter into the shower or bathtub and let the hot water melt it while rubbing it into the skin.

Double – Boiler Method: Simmer a couple inches of water in a pot and place the bowl over (but not touching) the water to melt the cocoa butter. When everything is melted, remove the bowl from heat and place in the refrigerator for about an hour. Make sure none of the condensation on the outside of the bowl gets in!

Directions for Hair:

Mix a dime-sized amount with warm water and smooth away. Cocoa butter makes a wonderful pre-shower treatment. You can melt the butter, massage it into your hair and scalp, and leave it on for no longer than 10 minutes – before it starts to solidify. Then, shampoo as usual.

Directions for Face:

Cocoa butter penetrates deeply into the skin. Use cocoa butter for daily skin scare. Rub into these areas and allow the cocoa butter to sink in.
