Kokum Butter Raw, 1LB, Refined, Great for DIY Skin Care, Lip Balms and so much more Manufactured and Distributed by Mary Tylor Naturals
Mary Tylor Naturals raw, Kokum butter with its relatively high melt point, liquefies slowly at skin temperature making it ideal for use in lipsticks and lip balms. It is also used in bar soaps, body butters, creams and conditioners.
When adding a butter to creams and lotions, it might be necessary to gently warm it until melted or very soft in texture, and can be incorporated into the final product. Using a hand blender, create a vortex with your cream or lotion and drizzle in your melted butter until fully incorporated and consistently smooth. For addition in soaps, the general rule of thumb is one tablespoon per pound (15 ml/500 g). As with most raw materials, results may vary, so we strongly recommend small, lab-scale batches prior to any commercial manufacturing.

directions | Kokum Butter Raw,1LB, Refined, Great for DIY Skin Care, Lip Balms and so much more Manufactured and Distributed by Mary Tylor Naturals Kokum offers excellent emollient properties which promotes healthy looking skin. It is quickly absorbed into the skin without leaving a greasy feel and is often used as a substitute for Cocoa Butter due to its uniform triglyceride composition. Directions: The most common method is to simply break off a small piece or shave off a slice and rub it against your skin. The friction will melt the butter so it can be absorbed into the skin. Unlike some other moisturizing products, cocoa butter does not leave a greasy residue on the skin. Another popular method is to take a piece of Kokum butter into the shower or bathtub and let the hot water melt it while rubbing it into the skin. Double – Boiler Method: Simmer a couple inches of water in a pot and place the bowl over (but not touching) the water to melt the Kokum butter. When everything is melted, remove the bowl from heat and place in the refrigerator for about an hour. Make sure none of the condensation on the outside of the bowl gets in! Store at room temperature, Keep away from direct sunlight Directions for Hair: Mix a dime-sized amount with warm water and smooth away. Kokum butter makes a wonderful pre-shower treatment. You can melt the butter, massage it into your hair and scalp, and leave it on for no longer than 10 minutes – before it starts to solidify. Then, shampoo as usual. Directions for Face: Kokum butter penetrates deeply into the skin. Use Kokum butter for daily skin scare. Rub into these areas and allow the Kokum butter to sink in. |
