Ginger Essential Oil

Botanical Name: Zingiber officinale

What is it?

Ginger Essential Oil is extracted from the roots of the Zingiber officinale herb. It is named after the Greek term “zingiberis” which means “horn shaped.”

How can I use it?

Anti-inflammatory. The International Journal of Preventive Medicine reported a study that revealed the anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects of ginger in health and physical activity. Ingesting ginger can help the body reduce inflammation levels and promote healthy antioxidative action.

Anti-Cancer. Studies have shown the anticancer potential of ginger due to its functional cancer preventing ingredients like gingerols, shogaol, and paradols. Ginger has been suggested as a possible natural cancer preventing protocol along with avoiding cancerous toxins such as tobacco and other carcinogens.

Cooking Addition. Many cultures use ginger as a culinary secret. Adding a ginger to an style recipe can help provide a healthy, natural flavor boost.  It can also be used to flavor certain desserts such as stewed apples and is used in many cider recipes.
