Herbal teas have been used for centuries for a variety of uses. In Native American cultures, infusing herbs into teas were some of the first line defenses against diseases and other discomforts such as insomnia and pain. Below is a list of great herbal teas for multiple remedies.

Peppermint Tea:
The health journal, Medical News Today published findings that promoted the health benefits of peppermint tea. The article showed evidence that this tea can be possibly effective to treat gastrointestinal issues such as diarrhea, acid reflux and nausea. It was indicated to have calming effects on those who suffer from anxiety. It is also used to sooth symptoms of the common cold and congestion.
To Use: For occasional therapeutic use, infuse one average size peppermint tea bag into at least 6oz of water one to two times daily until symptoms subside. (Do not start or stop any supplement without first checking with your healthcare provider)
Rose Hip Tea:
Rose hip tea is extracted from the fruit or seeds of rose plants. This tea is hailed as one of the healthiest ones because it contains antioxidants, vitamin C and quercetin which have exhibited evidence that they help reduce inflammation and oxidative stress.

Chamomile Tea:
Chamomile is a daisy like flower that is primarily used for its calming effects. Medical Studies have shown chamomile can be an effective treatment against insomnia. It has also been used to manage anxiety and is hailed for its calming effects.

Ginger Tea:
The National Center for Biotechnology Information published a study regarding Ginger’s fantastic benefits regarding many health issues. Ginger tea has been shown to be an effective remedy for various medical problems likely due to its anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. It has been used as an adjunct treatment for managing blood glucose in diabetics and has also shown to be effective in treating premenstrual syndrome and pelvic cramping in women.
To Use: Infuse 2 teaspoons of ginger into 8oz of warm water on empty stomach as needed until symptoms subside.
Note: Patients on blood thinning medication need to use caution when using ginger due to it’s possible blood thinning effects. Patients with ulcers, gastrointestinal sensitivities or chronic digestive disease also need to use with caution.
